Russell’s ‘thumbs up’ dating scheme

It’s always good to get a second opinion, but it seems Russell Brand has taken this concept to whole new levels, with a report today claiming the star seeks the seal of approval or disapproval from the maitre d’ at LA restaurant the Ulysses Voyage.

Apparently if his eagle-eyed culinary cohort gives a thumbs down, the silver-tongued funnyman will dump his date. If it’s a thumbs up, then Russell will work his magic.

“Russell came in on Tuesday night with a very attractive blonde," claimed a member of staff at another restaurant in the Farmer’s Market area of LA. “He said he normally takes his dates to the Ulysses Voyage nearby where the head waiter gives him the thumbs up or down to decide their future. But he said this one was really nice so he came in here as he didn’t want to subject her to that.”

That was nice of him. “Russell was being very charming and attentive and they seemed to be having a great time,” added the source. “She was drinking apple martinis and he was joking it was Kryptonite.”

“He then took her to see the film Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past at the cinema – which, given Russell’s reputation, was very fitting.”

It’s true – Russ is constantly being hassled by the spirits of all his dead exes. Oh, and speaking of ex-girlfriends, want to know whose former lady Mr B was most recently spotted flirting with? It was none other than reality star and model Holly Madison, who used to date… Hugh Hefner.

Hmmm, the Heff must be a hard act to follow…
